Diesel particulate filters (DPFs) are a key part of a vehicle's exhaust system. They are designed to trap and retain soot particles that are produced by a diesel engine until they can be oxidised or burnt off in the DPF.

Over time, the DPF can become clogged with soot and ash particles which can reduce its efficiency, cause it to fail and trigger engine warning lights.

The Mr Exhaust process of cleaning a DPF involves removing it from the vehicle and securing it in our specialised cleaning machine, shown below, which utilises a heated cleaning solution at high pressure to remove the soot and ash particles from the DPF.

The Mr Exhaust ‘TurboLaber Greenclean’ automatically cycles the cleaning process until the DPF is clean and has passed tests. A report is then printed and the DPF reinstalled on the vehicle.
